Poseidon
Poseidon is the god of the sea. He commands all aquatic life and all of them listen and obey his commands. Poseidon has many brothers and sisters and he is the brother of Hades and Zeus, two of the most well known gods. Aquaman is based off of Poseidon because they share the same traits, such as underwater living, big trident, and similar looks. One thing Poseidon values is the fact, he has a lot of mythical creatures and cyclops siblings and sons because of his culture.
One day, Poseidon is swimming with his ocean life when he hears a ship passing by. It is Odysseus and his men traveling towards the island on which Polyphemus, cyclops who is Poseidon's brother, lives. Meanwhile Polyphemos is herding his sheep into his intimidating cave. When Odysseus arrived, the men breached their ship onto the shore walking straight toward Polyphemus's home. Wondering who lived in the cave thought odysseus. Unfortunately Polyphemos was waiting and slammed the boulder right in the only entrance, the men jumped out of their skin. Odysseus's men turned around surprised at what they saw, a giant cyclops. At first it was quiet but then he welcomed his guests sarcastically. Right after that, he suddenly grabbed two men and devoured them in one chomp. Odysseus was startled by this action and jumped behind a rock for cover. Each night, he continued to gobble two men up. At last the men were fed up and they hatched a plan. They asked if he liked wine. happily he said yes so they took a bowl and filled it up with fifty bottles of wine. The next time around when they prepared the wine they put the fire out which was the only light in the whole cave. Luckily, he took another sip but when he leant down the men jabbed a giant spear in his eye causing huge pain which blinded him. He lifted up the rock at the entrance letting his sheep out but was feeling each to make sure each thing that left the cave was a sheep and not a human. Once again, Odysseus had the idea of sticking on the bottom of the sheep so Polyphemos would only feel the fuzziness of the sheep on top. Right before Odysseus boarded his ship he shouted “fool” to the cyclops. The cyclops, realizing they escaped, rushed to the shore stumbling but they had already left. Meanwhile Poseidon was angered that Odysseus was messing with his son Polyphemos so he cursed the men to sail the seas for the rest of their life.
