Hestia
Hestia is the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She is also the goddess of the hearth, which goes over the fireplace. Upon birth, she was eaten by her father, who had eaten all of his children, which are Demeter, Hestia, Hera, Hades, Poseidon. At that point, Rhea had gotten sick and tired of having her children eaten, so she gave birth to Zeus, whom she hid from Cronus. Then eventually she let Zeus go. He would later come back and castrate Cronus to let all of his children out of his stomach. Now Hestia takes care of Zeus’s hearth.
All of the gods show lots of appreciation for Hestia, and come to her side when necessary. One time there was a party at Olympus, and Hestia got really drunk while talking with the other gods. So she went outside of Olympus and found a goat tied to a tree. At this point, Hestia was really tired, so she decided to sleep next to the goat, and just as she was falling asleep, Priapos, the god of vegetable gardens, decided to snuggle up to her and go to sleep. Of course, Hestia woke up and screamed out for help, to which all of the gods in Olympus came rushing down to see what the danger was. Upon finding out it was Priapos, they beat him close to death and banned him from any future parties. by James |
